My dad went to high school with her!!! I asked him about her. He said she was a total diva, LOL.

“Single tear falls” is seriously my favorite part of this whole deconstruction

Seth is nothing less than a fucking brilliant star—I once coached with him and he’s not only a great artist but also
a wonderful person–21 stars!!!!

so beautiful and seth you are fabulous

Just to be clear, are you totally obsessed?

“the nicest one I lost” is such a devastating lyric – I thought I was the only one that felt it like that

I think you’re brilliant

i love grey gardens and around the world is such a beautiful song

beautiful commentary on an unbelievable talent Christine Ebersole.. thank you, sir…

Hey, “Broadway Nights” was soooo good! When are you going to write another novel? Thanks, kj

I Love How Much You Love Our Industry And The Great Work That Is Produced In It. You Are Just As Much Of An Inspiration As The Talent That You Critique…..STANDING OVATION FOR YOU MR!!!!!

Thank you Seth. Miss Ebersole’s performance was legendary and will go down in musical theater history as such.

I’m not the only one….le sigh. I actually saw Grey Gardens about a month before it’s final performance, on Broadway. Tears streamed down my face for a good portion of it. Her voice is magic, and tone is perfect.

I’m sorry, I had to post again, two times in a row.

“A single tear falls………plink!”

It’s like Will Ferrel being Robert Goulet, but delightfully Gay.

“The word mask is in the Mask”

ROFL!!!!! Hiiiilarious

hm…has his broadway talk show…plays for broadway…let’s check…yup…has a life…

anybody, anybody? ahah

Can I be your best friend? I absolutely love you and your analysis of these stunning songs. I am also obsessed with Christine Ebersole’s voice. OH MY GOD. Could her control be any better? I know your love the vibrato (and she has great speed) but I think it’s her select straight tones that add the real magic. Anyhow.

Whenever I listened to ‘Around The World’ I always thought of the ‘Revolutionary Etude’

I gasped when you said that it was based off that… I love it

i love these because they’re part deconstruction, part theory…which is AWESOME.

And [lol] at the part about “wash machine”

LOVE SETH!!!!!

and by goodness…Christine is incredible.

Just discovered you, Seth and am glad I did. Your analysis of the superb Christine Ebersole (and Barbra and MJ and Mariah, and others) is just fantastically educational and so entertaining all rolled into one.
