How can I calm myself to go on the crazy rides at ?

I am going to Busch Gardens, Virginia next week. I am sooooo nervous on the rides though. I have to push myself to go on. I always think i will fall out, and I can’t really let myself relax. I’ve been on the Griffon and some others but i am scared before i even get on. Usually i close my eyes and pray for it to be over. I will be there for Howl-O-Scream. Has anyone been there for this?

I’ve never been on that ride but i am scared of roller coasters also. I usually just tell my self that everthing is going to be fine. I usually go with other people and when they go on it with out any hesitation then i know its ok. The ride has probally been tested for safety. Millions of people ride it everyday, i’m sure you will have no problem. just go for it, its tons of fun!

yea im also really nervous for rollercoasters but everytime when its over i always want to go on again and i have a ton of fun

I’ve been to Busch Gardens loads of times. Don’t worry about the rides. You’re safe and secured on all of them. It’s impossible to fall off of them. Just relax and let the wind hit you’re face. Or get excited and scream/cheer at the top of your lungs! It’s a ton of fun. I’ve been on all of the rides loads of times and I’ve never had a big accident with any of them. Maybe one or two close calls, but nothing that’s nearly killed me. And those close calls were just involving the ride stopping at some point. No big deal.

The most dangerous right now is probably Griffon, simply because it’s new and they’re fixing it up. [Don't read if you're scared easily: I was on Griffon and the ride stopped two rides after my own ride. People were stuck at the top of the lift. If I'd recommend a ride to be cautious on, it's Griffon. But please, don't be afraid of it. That's the only time it happened while I was there. Every other time it was running smoothly.]

If you want to start out with smaller or easier rides, start with Darkastle and Big Bad Wolf. Those are the two easy rides that are really fun and you know you’re safe on both of them. Lochness Monster is also a good ride. Sure, there are loops and the sun gets in your eyes, but that’s when you do close your eyes. The rest of the ride you need them open to look at the beautiful view all around. Sure, you’re going super fast, but you’re also seeing a lot of nature on all of those rides too.

If you’re really worried, I can place a scale of six rides that I ride and place them in order of safest to scariest. Really though, the scary ones are still protected and safe.

1.) Darkastle – Loads of fun. There’s no being scared of this ride. It’s just on a little car for 8 people and a mini movie to watch. It’s spins you around and around. A good ride for beginners or those who don’t like roller coasters. Not good for those who get dizzy easily.
2.) Big Bad Wolf – Lots of fun and swings you all over the place. No loops, but a few steep drops. Nothing too hard to handle. Excellent roller coaster for those just starting out.
3.) Apollo’s Chariot – Don’t let the size fool you. It’s really high up there, but you’ve got zero chances of falling out. They crush your stomach with the safety bar on this one. It’s pretty long, but nothing really bad. It’s the heights that scare people. Good for those who hate loops.
4.) Lochness Monster – Fast and really awesome! But be careful, there’s two loops for this ride, along with a dark tunnel. But it’s over a beautiful lake and it’s not bad at all. If you get dizzy from loops, this isn’t the best ride for you. But even for that, it’s not too bad at all! Good for those ready to press on with coasters.
5.) Alpengiest – Wicked fast and really whips you around. It goes pretty high up there too. It’s not so bad, unless you find yourself being tossed all around. Good for those who can deal with extreme. Not good for beginners.
6.) Griffon – Extremely fast. You’re pretty open too. It’s the newest ride in the park really. It’s awesome for anyone who really loves rides. Good for those who are brave. Bad for beginners.

You just need to think of all of the fun things you’ll miss out on with your eyes closed. Open them up and look around. It’s not that scary after all. It’s fun to look around! And you shouldn’t want the ride to be over. Cause then you gotta get on a long line again! Trust me, it’s a load of fun getting on a ride and watching everything or just enjoying the ride itself. It really is.

And that’s all there is to it. Hope this helps! Good luck! And remember, just have fun with it!
