Another view of the Gardens at Dignity Pet Crematorium

During the Second World War the site was used as a small prisoner of war camp that housed approximately 40 Italian and German prisoners. The Garden of Remembrance had four huts situated on it that were used to accommodate the prisoners. A fifth hut, located next to the Brick Kiln, is still standing today. It originally housed the prison guards and was used as both a Farewell room and office when Dignity was established in 1992. The Garden of Remembrance was created in 1993 and has formal plots in each of the flower beds where pets ashes are interred and marked with a memorial. www.dignitypetcrem.co.uk
